In April 2012 the Cité de la Mer will pay tribute to the Titanic, on the 100th anniversary of her launch and subsequent sinking in April 1912. A new exhibition area will be opened, dedicated to the famous luxury liner which spent a few hours in the port of Cherbourg to take passengers on board. The exhibition provides a great opportunity to appreciate the history of the immigrant port of Cherbourg.
