For over 25 years, Cherbourg welcomes important sailing competitions : from the Tour of France by sail in 1986 to the Solitaire du Figaro in 2010, including the Cutty Sark, the Tall Ships’ Race, the Open UAP or the Challenge Mondial Assistance.
Every time, the city shows a great sense of organization and welcomes sailors from around the world. With the Solitaire du Figaro, the city has woven tight links : between 1991 and 2010, the famous regatta has chosen Cherbourg seven times.
