France's second largest cross-channel port

From Cherbourg, there is nothing easier than popping over to the other side of the Channel.

Ferries and fastcraft provide a shuttle service to Poole and Portsmouth, with up to seven sailings a week to Rosslare and Dublin in Ireland.

This intense cross-channel traffic has been part of the life of Cherbourg since 1964.

The harbour, providing some 3,000 jobs, is now France's second largest port, with 1.6 million passengers and 4.3 millions tonnes of freight passing through it every year.
