Cherbourg marina in the heart of some nautical news
In 2010, Cherbourg marina is going again to welcome some nautical events with the region :
- The "Tour des ports de la Manche" from July, 11th to 16th. Stop on July, 15th in Cherbourg for its 27th edition, a hundred boats foreseen
- The arrival of the "Solitaire du Figaro" from August, 17th to 22nd.
The marina will be liven up during six days, 41st edition of this international race. Coming from Le Havre, Brest, Spain and Ireland, the fifty competitors are going to be in Cherbourg from August, 19th. On Sunday, 22nd, numerous concerts and animations.
- "Labrax" Bass Fishing Competition from September, 25th to 26th
- The "Interligue Optimistes" from October, 30th to November,1st, a national regatta organised by the Sailing School of Cherbourg.

Cherbourg marina yachtsmen can take the benefit of some shows in town or in the surroundings
- Exhibition Millet from June, 18th to September, 5th
To celebrate Impressionism in Normandy, The Thomas Henry Art Museum pays the tribute to Jean-François Millet from June, 18th to September, 5th 2010.This exhibition offers a new vision of his style, unknown.
- Cin'étoiles on the "Plage Verte" from July, 16th to 18th
One or two open-air films followed by a concert every day.
Other organisations not to miss during the Summer period:
The town of Cherbourg organises as well again the Music Festival, on June, 21st and Bastille Day, on July, 13th and 14th.
Special concerts on the "Plage Verte", on July, 30th
About forty musicians will be present during several hours, on July, 30th, organised by the Youth Hostel of Cherbourg. Beginning of the concerts at 7pm, a dozen of groups, every style provided up to 1am.
You have so many reasons to come to Cherbourg...
To the East, we pass Saint-Vaast, then Barfleur leading on to the Bay of the Seine and the D Day beaches.
To the West, the Anglo-Norman islands are within a stone's throw, then you will have a coastal navigation from Dielette to Granville. Passing through Barneville-Carteret will allow you to sail down to Alderney, Guernsey, Jersey and Sark… Do not forget Chausey, or even further down Saint-Malo.
Cherbourg is the place to start your boat trip, rally or return from it, stay or continue on to other horizons.
