Its capacity is around 1556 moorings, among which there are 308 additional moorings in the outer harbour. Port Chantereyne is now the most important marina on the Channel coast.
With a restaurant, a delicatessen, a hotel, a bowling alley, and six skilled workers and sailmakers companies, the marina is a genuine neighbourhood of the town, close to the urban centre.
For several years now, Cherbourg has been confirming its maritime vocation. Numerous nautical events of national and international renown have taken place here and will continue to do so in the future.
From the Cutty Sark gathering of sailboats in 1987 to the Starmanche in 1996, from the "La Solitaire du Figaro" annual race since 1991 to the Tour de France à la voile in 1995, via the European Union UAP Open Race in which Cherbourg was a port of call on two occasions, in 1993 and 1995, the town is proud to host these prestigious events.
