Discovering the Cotentin
Amidst a magnificent region where nature has been especially preserved, Cherbourg-Oteville is the starting point of nice walks, bicycles tours and horse rides to discover the Cotentin.

To the east you will find the smiling Val de Saire, to the west the wild and imposing La Hague, and to the south the bocage and the Swamps Park of the Cotentin and the Bessin.

Especially appreciated by lovers of strong sporting emotions, the Cotentin's coastline is the ideal place for the practice of all the sports involving the sea and the wind: yachting, sea rowing and sea kayak, wind cart, skin diving, surf, fly surf, fun board…

How to get here:

  • by car : 3 hours from Paris, take the A13 then the RN13
  • by train : 3 hours from the Saint-Lazare railroad station in Paris
  • by plane : flights from Orly to Cherbourg
  • by sea: ferries from England and Ireland.

Cherbourg is also located not far from :
> THE LANDING BEACHES (Omaha, Utah Beaches…), which are a place of memory.
> BAYEUX with its famous Tapestry, which was attributed to Queen Matilda.
> LE MONT SAINT MICHEL called "La Merveille", which means "the Marvel". It is said that "the Couesnon" (the river), in its madness, put the mount in Normandy".
> GRANVILLE called the Monaco of the north with the museum house, which belonged to the couturier François Christian Dior.
